Vagueness, Ambiguity, and Clarity in Writing free essay sample
I was thrown from my truck as it left the road. I was later found in a ditch by a flock of wild turkeys. Next Sunday a collection will be taken to help with the cost of the new altar. When coming up with what was vague in the first excerpt, I came up with that anyone wanting to help to do something. This is vague because it is not revealing what they need done. The ambiguous part of this excerpt is found i the grammar. It does not clearly state what type of collection has been arranged or for who has the collection was arranged for. In the next excerpt the vague statement was I was thrown from my truck as it left the road. This is vague because it does not let the reader know who got thrown off the truck. A good way to make sure that what you are writing is clear s to get al the information that you need before you even start writing. This will ensure that when you start writing you can use your critical thinking and make your argument a sound one. You want to make sure that what your reader is reading makes sense and is clear and precise. This will ensure that you get your point across.
